What IS PRYDE?  
 
PRYDE is an after and out of school time program which offers learning opportunities for children that focus on the five developmental domains: Social, Emotional, Physical, Intellectual and Cognitive. Each PRYDE classroom has at least one staff person whose qualifications include a Childrens Center Site Supervisor Permit issued by the California Teacher Credentialing Office.
 
PRYDE is reviewed and regulated by the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District and the Child
Development Division of California Department of Education. 

Every PRYDE classroom has the ability to vary the daily schedules to meet the needs of the children and the program.

 A typical PRYDE school day / daily schedule:
(vacation schedules are different)

Sample after school schedule:

 

2:00 - staff arrive to prepare for the day

 

2:30-3:00 students are greeted and accounted for.

  TK-1st grade have exploration time and 2-5th grade work on homework

  2nd -5th may go to library for book check out/in or AR testing. In some cases older students may return to classroom for specific assistance

Upper graders may report to sports clubs at specific days/times when available

 

3:00-3:15 TK-1st have a group time and 2nd-5th grade finish homework

2nd -5th grade may transition to the computer lab from 3:00-3:30 p.m. or have free choice and teacher planned activities  

 

3:15-3:30 TK-1st work on specific projects organized by the staff

 

3:30- students enjoy outdoor curriculum and free choice outdoors 

 

3:45 students are served a snack

 

4:00 upper grade students returning from sports clubs are served snack

  Select students return indoors for project or homework completion

 

4:30 all students return indoors for free choice or teacher led activities

 

5:00 at select locations students combine into one classroom for end of the day activities

End of the day activities may be restricted to computer, table games, art and select centers for easy clean up.

 5:45 PRYDE closes

On Wednesdays, the schedule begins at 1:00 and the times are extended where possible.

 

On parent conference weeks students have greater opportunities to create and explore and possibly attend an after school field trip.

 

Non- School day schedules are included in the separate sign ups for those occasions.
Long days are very busy at PRYDE!
